This unique sideways cross necklace is a part of The Emergi Collection: ‘Emergi’ – to rise up, emerge, free one’s self. Adornment for those extra special moments in life, designed to celebrate life, love, and joy.
Hand formed and slightly hammered mini sideways cross necklace made in your choice of sterling silver or yellow gold-filled, with easy to use lobster clasp. This is a perfect everyday necklace, and also makes a great gift.
There are a few beliefs for the meaning of the sideways cross. One meaning is that it represents the earth. It also represents the human race and that the horizontal orientation of the cross means that the humanity is positioned right in the middle of heaven and hell. This makes it a neutral symbol. Because of this meaning, some people say that wearing a sideways cross necklace means that you are aware of your place in this existence- that you are grounded here on earth.
At the end of the day, the true meaning of the sideway cross will depend on the person who is wearing it.
Each cross is handmade, so will vary slightly from photo, but it will be beautiful! Cross is about 1/2 inch x 1/4 inch. Chain length is your choice of 15, 16, or 18 inches. Gently wipe clean any tarnish with a polishing cloth or with mild, dish soap.

I grew up in a small town outside the suburbs of Philadelphia, and I have been creating art my whole life. I fell in love with metal smithing while attending the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. The beauty of the South inspired many of my first designs, and throughout my #JenSetting travels I draw inspiration for the JC jewelry lines. After graduating from SCAD in 2007 with a BFA in metals & jewelry, I moved to the Bay Area, where I worked for a few prestigious jewelry designers gaining tremendous bench experience while perfecting my fabrication skills. After about 4 years in San Fransisco and Oakland, I moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to focus on developing my own jewelry line, while spending time with family and close friends as my sister and father called Colorado home these days. I now call LA home here in Hermosa Beach, where the JCJ Studio is right next to the gorgeous Pacific Ocean!
