The process to produce sabra silk has not changed for centuries. Once the cactus plant is collected from the long agave plants by Local villagers, the leaves are crushed and the fibers washed and hammered. The leaves are then soaked in water to separate the fibers and filaments, which are then spun and woven to make ‘silk threads’. Lastly they’re dyed in different colors, then loomed the textural canvas into patterns of ancient motifs. The yarn-dyed palette comes from all-natural botanical pigments, and each rug gets its unique, burnished character from washing and drying under the Moroccan sun.
Use them around your house to add a boho chic style to your home interior during summer, or buy it as a gift for a loved one.
