Since 2007 we’ve been bringing this soap to home chefs to help clean up the funky hands from kitchen work. Born from 20 yrs in the Restaurant Industry and a lifetime of personal gourmet cooking, it’s a soap created from actual professional kitchen experience. Made with triple strength brewed coffee to help neutralize odors, coffee grinds to gently scrub away the food residue and sweet Anise oil to deodorize. We’re now being being imitated, but this is THE ORIGINAL!

Botanica Basics LLC is a farm based small business specializing in handmade soaps and botanically based bath & body care. We’re located in Polk County, Missouri, in the lush rolling hills of the beautiful Ozarks. Soapmakers and cosmetic formulators since 2000, we use natural based raw materials, plant oils, herbs and their extracts, essential oils, and top quality fragrance oils to create small batch, skin pampering products that are fresh and effective. We design, formulate and create our products in our dedicated soap studio and lab. Our core product line is handmade soaps that are vegetable oil based. Our soaps are made by us from start to finish with our own soap oil blends, not a melt and pour soap base or pre-made soap base noodles or blocks.
We came to this venture because of necessity having been the mother. I had learned the basics of soap making but never actually used it. Then in 2000 my skin started freaking out and I didn’t know why. Through trial and error and lots of research, I realized I had become sensitive to many of the synthetic detergents and ingredients that proliferate the mass produced bathing products on the market. I also learned the difference between real soap and the detergents that we had been using. Not content with the natural based body care available at the time, I felt I could make them better than what was available at the time. And so I did. After a few years of handmade soap, bath & body gifting and many people also asking to buy, it occured to me I wasn’t the only one with the problem. We had made many converts in the journey. After steady encouragement from friends and family, we decided to transition this from a personal need and hobby to a business. And thus Botanica Basics was born.
As we succeed, we pay it forward to the area that has supported us. We give back to the Ozarks area by way of monetary donations or donations in kind. Cat and dog rescues are our heart, along with community based agencies and organizations that help people through hard times or adversity.
