Retailer’s FAQ

What is Stockabl? We are a wholesale marketplace for handmade and independently designed goods, and our goal is to connect you, the retail buyer, with smaller makers and designers from around the globe. The Stockabl team is made up of makers and small shop owners, so we are intimately familiar with the wants and needs of this unique community.

How do I become a buyer? To become a Stockabl buyer please submit a brief application, which asks for basic information about your retail business. Stockabl welcomes business owners that operate brick and mortar stores or online e-commerce shops looking to purchase handmade goods at wholesale from our curated selection of unique designers.

How much does it cost to join Stockabl? It’s free for buyers to join and browse Stockabl. All Stockabl transaction fees and payment processing fees are paid by sellers.

How are sellers chosen for the site? We source our (900 and counting) sellers from buyer’s recommendations, scouring social media, and referrals from other makers. All of our sellers go through an approval process where their brand, wholesale experience, and pricing is examined. Sellers must agree to offer at least a standard keystone (2X) markup on all items sold on Stockabl.

What if I don’t have a brick & mortar? Online stores, pop-ups, and subscription boxes are welcome to apply to buy on Stockabl; however, we strongly encourage you to provide references to other makers and brands you have had a business relationship with in the past for us to reach out to for a recommendation. Please note that if you’re not yet “open for business” we wont be able to approve your application at this time, as we have to verify that you qualify for wholesale pricing. We look forward to working with you when you do launch though! Additionally, items purchased on Stockabl are expressly prohibited from being re-sold on Amazon, Etsy, Ebay, Poshmark, or any other third-party website or marketplace.

How can I work with Stockabl as a large retailer? Any retailer looking to discover and purchase goods from a Stockabl seller will need to first apply to the site as a new buyer. Once approved, the retailer can search the market as a vetted retailer, and all purchases can be made through the marketplace. Large retailers with highly specific buying processes are encouraged to reach out to our buying team directly after application (or leave a note in your application and we will contact you) for assistance in creating custom purchase orders with Stockabl sellers.

How do I pay for my orders and when am I charged? We can accept payment via credit card, PayPal, or check. Payment is authorized when your order is placed, and we are unable to offer net terms at this time (but it is something we are working on for the future!). Sellers will notify you via order messages regarding delivery timeline, shipping confirmation, and tracking numbers.

How is shipping calculated and how soon will I receive my order? Lead times vary by seller and should be noted in the seller’s policies. We strongly encourage you to reach out to sellers before submitting an order via our built in messaging tool if you have any questions or special requests. Shipping policies also vary by seller – some calculate based on weight, others on quantity, or subtotal, some charge a flat fee, etc. Additionally, sellers with items that are difficult to calculate shipping in advance may opt to send you an invoice for shipping prior to shipment. In any of these cases, the seller should have their shipping policy clearly outlined in their policies – and you are always welcome to inquire via a quick message. If the seller is using our built in shipping calculator your shipping will be available to view in the cart.

Can drop-shipping orders be placed via Stockabl? At the discretion of the seller, yes. If you are interested in setting up this type of arrangement, you should check the seller’s policies first to see if they have a set policy and then inquire directly with them via message. If you attempt to place an order with intent to drop ship without prior approval from the seller, your order with them may be canceled.

Can consigment orders be placed via Stockabl? At this time we are unable to accommodate consignment orders.

What do I do if I have a problem with an order? (Preferred) Fill out this support request form and let us know what happened or email buyer support (include your order number and a brief description) and let us know what happened and we will assist you in getting it sorted out immediately.

Are all prices in USD? Yes. We have sellers from countries outside of the United States, but all prices are listed in USD.

What do I do if I have an issue with a Seller? While we hope this never happens, if you find that a seller is violating Stockabl terms (for example, not meeting a minimum of keystone markup, is behaving unprofessionally, or attempting to move the transaction off of Stockabl) please report this via our buyer support form (select the option “Report an issue with a seller”) and tell us what is going on. We will investigate and handle the situation immediately.
